The ALFALAK: Journal of Islamic Astronomy is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal published by Islamic Research Publisher, Indonesia, in collaboration with scholars and research institutions in Islamic astronomy. It serves as an open platform for original research and conceptual studies focusing on the integration of classical Islamic astronomical heritage with modern science. The journal covers topics including Islamic calendrical studies, crescent visibility, qibla determination, timekeeping, and the relationship among astronomy, fiqh, and theology. Published biannually, it upholds high academic standards, promotes global scholarly collaboration, and advances research in Islamic astronomy.
ALFALAK: Journal of Islamic Astronomy publishes high-quality research and conceptual papers in the field of Islamic astronomy, with a particular focus on contemporary issues related to astronomy, falak studies, and their applications in the Muslim world. This issue has been available online since July 2026. All articles in this issue were authored/co-authored by 2 authors, representing 2 affiliations across 2 countries: Indonesia and the Russian Federation.
