Journal of Islamic Astronomy is a double-blind peer-reviewed academic journal published by the Islamic Research Publisher, Indonesia, in collaboration with leading scholars and research institutions in the fields of Islamic astronomy (ʿIlm al-Falak) and astronomical sciences. This partnership reflects a shared commitment to advancing scholarly discourse and promoting high-quality research in the integration of classical Islamic astronomical heritage with contemporary scientific developments. The journal serves as an open academic platform for the dissemination of original research articles, conceptual papers, and book reviews that contribute to the advancement of Islamic astronomy from both theoretical and applied perspectives. It welcomes interdisciplinary studies that encompass celestial mechanics, lunar and solar observations, Islamic calendrical studies, qibla determination, timekeeping, astrophysics in Islamic civilization, and the integration of astronomy with Islamic law and theology.

With a strong emphasis on academic rigor and scientific integrity, the Journal of Islamic Astronomy implements a rigorous double-blind peer-review process to ensure the originality, relevance, and scholarly contribution of each submission. The journal aims to connect astronomers, falak scholars, jurists, historians of science, and researchers in related disciplines in addressing contemporary issues such as moon sighting methodologies, astronomical data analysis, observatory development, and digital image processing in hilal observation. Published biannually, in January–June and July–December, the journal upholds open access principles to facilitate the global dissemination of knowledge and to foster intellectual collaboration across national and international academic communities.
