Generative Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy
Terabit: Journal of Informatics and Computing establishes this policy to ensure academic integrity, originality, and the quality of scholarly publications. This policy regulates the responsible use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) tools such as ChatGPT, Gemini, Claude, and similar technologies.
Permitted Use of AI
The use of AI tools is permitted only for limited purposes, including:
- Language editing and grammar correction
- Improving clarity and readability
- Stylistic refinement
- Generating preliminary summaries
Such use must not replace the author’s intellectual contribution.
Prohibited Use of AI
The following uses of AI are strictly prohibited:
- Generating scientific content, analysis, or scholarly arguments
- Creating citations, references, or bibliographic data
- Fabricating or manipulating data and research findings
- Producing content that cannot be verified or justified by the authors
Violation of these rules may result in manuscript rejection, retraction, or sanctions.
Disclosure Requirements
Authors must disclose any use of AI tools in the manuscript, typically in the Acknowledgment or Author’s Note section. Failure to disclose such use constitutes a breach of publication ethics.
Author Responsibility
Authors are fully responsible for:
- The originality of the manuscript
- The accuracy and authenticity of data and references
- The validity of methods and conclusions
- Compliance with ethical standards
AI tools must not be listed as authors or contributors.
Reviewers and Editors
Reviewers and editors must maintain confidentiality and are prohibited from uploading manuscripts to public AI platforms. AI tools may only be used for language improvement without exposing manuscript content to external systems.
Compliance and Enforcement
The journal may use AI-detection tools as part of the evaluation process. Violations of this policy may result in:
- Manuscript rejection
- Article retraction
- Temporary or permanent submission bans
