Publication Ethics
This statement clarifies the ethical behavior of all parties involved in the publication process of Terabit: Journal of Informatics and Computing, including authors, editors, reviewers, and the publisher. This statement is based on the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).
Terabit: Journal of Informatics and Computing is committed to maintaining the highest standards of publication ethics and takes all possible measures against publication malpractice.
Responsibilities of the Editor
- The editor is responsible for deciding which submitted manuscripts are suitable for publication, based on the journal’s editorial policies and legal requirements regarding defamation, copyright infringement, and plagiarism.
- The editor evaluates manuscripts without regard to authors’ race, gender, religious belief, ethnic origin, citizenship, or political philosophy.
- The editor and editorial staff must not disclose any information about submitted manuscripts to anyone other than the corresponding author, reviewers, and publisher.
- Unpublished materials disclosed in a submitted manuscript must not be used in the editor’s own research without the author’s written consent.
- The editor must ensure a fair and unbiased peer-review process and avoid conflicts of interest.
Responsibilities of the Reviewer
- Reviewers assist editors in making editorial decisions and may also assist authors in improving their manuscripts.
- Reviewers must treat all manuscripts as confidential documents and must not share or discuss them with others except as authorized by the editor.
- Reviews should be conducted objectively and supported by clear arguments.
- Reviewers should identify relevant published work that has not been cited by the authors.
- Reviewers must report any similarities or overlap between the manuscript under consideration and other published works.
- Reviewers should not review manuscripts in which they have conflicts of interest.
- Information obtained during the review process must not be used for personal advantage.
Responsibilities of the Author
- Authors must present their research accurately and objectively, with sufficient detail to allow replication.
- Authors must ensure that their work is original and free from plagiarism or data fabrication.
- Authors must properly cite all sources and acknowledge the work of others.
- Authors should not submit the same manuscript to more than one journal simultaneously.
- Authors must disclose any significant conflicts of interest.
- If authors discover significant errors in their published work, they must promptly notify the editor and cooperate in correcting or retracting the paper.
