Retraction & Correction

Retraction and Correction Policy

Terabit: Journal of Informatics and Computing recognizes that authors carefully prepare manuscripts and that all submissions undergo a rigorous peer-review process. However, in certain circumstances, published articles may require correction, retraction, or removal for scientific or ethical reasons. Such actions are taken with strict standards and only under exceptional conditions.

The journal is committed to maintaining the integrity, reliability, and completeness of the scholarly record in accordance with the guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE).

Core Commitment

Maintaining the integrity and trustworthiness of published research is the highest priority of Terabit: Journal of Informatics and Computing.

Article Retraction

Articles may be retracted if:

  • There is a major error that invalidates the results or conclusions.
  • The article involves redundant publication without proper citation.
  • There are ethical violations such as plagiarism, data fabrication, or inappropriate authorship.

Retraction process includes:

  • Notification to the editorial office
  • Evaluation in accordance with COPE guidelines
  • Consultation with relevant parties (authors, reviewers, or institutions)
  • Final decision by the editor
  • Publication of a retraction notice in the journal

Retention of copyright by the author does not automatically grant the right to retract an article. Retractions follow established ethical guidelines.

Article Correction

Corrections are issued when errors do not invalidate the overall findings but require clarification or amendment.

  • Erratum: Correction of errors introduced by the publisher
  • Corrigendum: Correction of errors made by the author
  • Addendum: Additional information or clarification

The final decision regarding corrections is made by the editor based on the significance of the error.

Article Removal

In rare cases, articles may be removed if they:

  • Contain defamatory or unlawful content
  • Violate legal rights or are subject to court orders
  • Pose serious ethical or public risks

In such cases, the article content will be removed, but bibliographic information will remain, accompanied by a removal notice.

Article Replacement

If an article contains serious errors but remains scientifically valuable, authors may request a retraction and replacement with a corrected version.

The replacement will be clearly linked to the original article, and a transparent record of changes will be maintained.
