Complaints & Appeals Policy
Fairness, Transparency, and Ethical Accountability in Scholarly Publishing
Nusantara Education is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and accountable process for handling complaints and appeals. All concerns related to editorial processes, publication ethics, and journal management are addressed promptly, impartially, and professionally.
This policy aligns with the COPE Core Practices , ensuring integrity in scholarly communication.
Types of Complaints
Complaints may include, but are not limited to:
- Research misconduct or ethical violations
- Editorial bias or unfair treatment
- Peer-review process disputes
- Plagiarism or copyright infringement
- Undisclosed conflicts of interest
Submitting a Complaint
Complaints can be submitted by authors, reviewers, readers, or other stakeholders via the journal’s official email. Submissions should include:
- Complainant’s contact information
- Clear description of the issue
- Supporting evidence or documentation
Confidentiality & Anonymity
All complaints are handled with strict confidentiality. Personal information will only be shared with individuals directly involved in the investigation process.
Assessment & Investigation
Upon receipt, the editorial office conducts an initial assessment to determine the relevance and seriousness of the complaint. If valid, a thorough investigation will be initiated, including consultation with relevant parties and examination of supporting evidence.
Resolution & Communication
The journal will resolve complaints as efficiently as possible. Complainants will be informed of the outcome along with any actions taken.
Appeals Process
If dissatisfied with the outcome, complainants may submit an appeal with additional justification or evidence. An independent appeals committee will review the case to ensure fairness and objectivity.
Final Decision & Transparency
The decision of the appeals committee is final. The journal maintains an anonymized record of complaints and their resolutions to ensure transparency and accountability.
Nusantara Education regularly reviews and updates this policy to ensure alignment with international best practices, reinforcing its commitment to ethical integrity, transparency, and trust in academic publishing.
